A new Rocket League competition will be held at X Games Minneapolis

FACEIT and X Games team up to create a Rocket League Invitational with $75,000 prize pool. The event will be broadcasted by ESPN.

Teams will compete for the share of the $75,000 prize pool from July 14 to 16. ESPN 3 and another platform that has not been announced yet will be streaming the matches during the event.

“The X Games and ESPN have done a great job of bringing attention to nontraditional sports over the years. Adding esports and Rocket League to that lineup is something we at Psyonix are very excited about. We can’t wait to bring this competition to a whole new audience.” – Josh Watson, Esports Operations Manager at Psyonix.

X Games has hosted several esports competitions in the past, including Call of Duty and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournaments. The X Games hosts high-intensity sports competition and Rocket League fits in well with that.

It’s not the firts esports competition held in the X Games as they previously hosted Call of Duty and CS:GO tournament.
